Recently, I was able to getaway to Fredericksburg Texas. Previously it was on my low priority list because it seemed like a romantic getaway. Even though Fredericksburg is a popular tourist destination in the Texas Hill Country with many reasons to visit, I just couldn’t get excited about it. It is known for its history, which I always love learning about a location’s history. It is also known for its natural beauty and having gorgeous places to hike. However, it is also known for its selection of wineries. Who knows maybe wine equals romance in my book but Fredericksburg represented romance to me.
Ironically, even though Fredericksburg has so many great things to do, we went there to do absolutely nothing. We went with 2 other couples, got a cute little house with a pool, made food every night and relaxed. We played games like Pictionary and Trivia. Mostly, it was just awesome to get away and spend quality time with our friends.
PERFECT COUPLE’S GETAWAY
It is really rare when you can get a bunch of busy adults together at the same time for a getaway but I am glad we did. A getaway was exactly what we needed. Even though we did a lot of the same things we could do at home, it was awesome to be able to finally get to do them.
We found the house on Air BnB. The house was perfect for three couples because it was a 3 bedroom and 2 bath house. It had a fire pit, dining room space and lots of outdoor space. In the mornings we would have breakfast outside and in the evenings the men would rule the grill.
FREDERICKSBURG HISTORY
Fredericksburg was founded in 1846. Founded by German settlers it was even named after Prince Frederick of Prussia. If you are a history buff, you can learn about the lives of early settlers at the Pioneer Museum, which is housed in 19th-century buildings.
