My Favorite Homemade Meatballs Recipe Ever

Meatballs is one of my favorite dishes. I tend to create variations of meatballs as well. I make curry meatballs, meatballs in my signature marinara sauce and more. Yet, the key is getting the meatball right. You can always change the sauces, but it is the flavor that matters most. I enjoy making my own breadcrumbs. I will usually make toasted garlic bread and then use them for breadcrumbs. However, it is your choice but remember breadcrumbs are a key ingredient.

Ingredient Tips
  • Ground Beef – Do not overcook the zucchini. Cook until it’s barely tender.
  • Bread Crumbs – Squeeze the lemon juice from the lemons. Then toss the halves into the pasta.
  • Onions – The onions are optional, but they do provide a lot of flavor. Make sure they are finely chopped.
  • Parmesan Cheese – I prefer to use fresh Parmesan. It will give your meatballs their texture.
  • Pink Salt – As you may know, I love Himalayan pink salt and use it every opportunity I get.
  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1-1/3 cups soft bread crumbs
  • 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
Step 1

Before you even get started, preheat your oven to 375°.

Step 2

In a large bowl, crumble beef, then add eggs, water, onion, and breadcrumbs. Next add the Parmesan cheese, garlic and Italian seasoning; mix lightly but thoroughly. (Pepper is optional).

Step 3

Shape into 1-1/2-in. balls. You can either do this with your hands by rolling them or you can use a round scooper. Place meatballs on greased racks in shallow baking pans.

Step 4

Next place them in the oven and bake, uncovered, until no longer pink. They should have an internal temperature of 160 degrees when complete. Bake for 15-18 minutes.

Step 5

Pull the meatballs out of the oven and let them cool.
